Our Mission
~To foster the growth of the industry and to promote technology
development and innovation in the sector~

Supported by the GLOBE Foundation of Canada, the BCEIA is committed to networking within the industry; establishing an effective industry liaison and advocacy presence; strengthening business development and competitiveness and increasing the profiles of its Members.

Our Future
~To evolve and harmonize the environment industry’s burgeoning
sustainable development portfolio~

In British Columbia and elsewhere in Canada, the environmental sector is undergoing a process of re-orientation and renewal. The waning focus on pollution prevention at the source not only is decreasing the demand for traditional and often more expensive end-of-pipe pollution control technologies, it is spurring the need for more energy-efficient and pioneering technologies for application in the primary resource, manufacturing, energy and service sectors.

Climate change and the need for clean and renewable energy are driving forces as the environment industry redefines itself through the formation of new alliances and partnerships with governments and academia focused more broadly on sustainability.  Changing environmental management practices in the private sector, new approaches to public policy making with respect to environmental protection, and shifting economic forces globally are helping to reshape the environment industry.
