BCEIA Code of Ethics

Members of the British Columbia Environment Industry shall at all times act with fairness, courtesy and good faith and uphold the values of truth, honesty and trustworthiness.  In keeping with these basic tenets, members of the BCEIA shall:

1) Perform their service with proper regard for the safety, health and welfare of workers, the public, and the environment;

2) Perform their services in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and policies of local, provincial and federal jurisdictions;

3) Endeavour to extend public awareness of the environment industry and its place in society;

4) Undertake only such work as they are competent to perform by virtue of their experience and training;

5) Stay informed; strive to advance the body of knowledge they practice while providing opportunities for the professional development of their employees;

6) Clearly present to clients the possible consequences of overruled or disregarded professional decisions or judgments;

7) Endeavour at all times to improve the competence, dignity and prestige of the Association;

8) Advertise their services in a manner complimentary to the dignity of the Association.
