CONTAMINATED SITES COMMITTEE
The contaminated sites committee comprises a group of high-level managers in the contaminated sites industry who meet to discuss and comment on issues in the industry. The committee vocalizes on behalf of the industry on matters related to procurement, regulatory reform and environmental policy, taking a proactive approach in communicating industry concerns. BCEIA has a seat on the Licensed Environmental Professional Advisory Group (LEPSAG) which meets to review draft documents and provide comment on the proposed Approved Professional designation scheduled to be implemented in 2006. Members of the committee are required to sign confidentiality agreements prior to reviewing these documents and provides a unique insight into pending legislation which may impact on their clients.

HAZARDOUS WASTE COMMITTEE
The hazardous waste committee comprises a group of high-level managers in the hazardous waste management industry who meet once a month to discuss and comment on issues in the industry. The committee vocalizes on behalf of the industry on matters related to procurement, regulatory reform and environmental policy, taking a proactive approach in communicating industry concerns.

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
Consisting of the Chair , Vice-Chair and Secretary Treasurer, the Executive Committee carries out the day-to-day operational activities of the Association.

EVENTS and MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
The events and membership committee is actively involved in the recruitment of new members for the Association and in planning various networking events, workshops, luncheons and educational activities that are of interest to BCEIA members.

ETHICS COMMITTEE
The ethics committee is an ad hoc group of directors that is convened as required to deal with situations and concerns involving the activities of member companies that may be in violation of the Association’s Code of Ethics.

INTERNATIONAL TRADE COMMITTEE
The International Trade Committee works with member companies to strengthen their capacity to prosper in the international marketplace for environmental goods and services. The committee maintains close liaison with various federal and provincial agencies and other organizations active in the international area and acts as the host for incoming trade missions and delegations seeking to do business with environmental sector companies in British Columbia.

NOMINATION COMMITTEE
The nomination committee is convened once per year prior to the Annual General Meeting of the BCEIA to search for and screen suitable candidates to become members of the Board of Directors for the Association.
