INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
The International Affairs Committee is responsible for organizing incoming and outgoing missions for companies wishing to establish business relationships pertaining to the business of the environment. This committee also maintains liaison with all foreign Consulates and Trade Offices in British Columbia and is the primary point of contact for inquiries pertaining to upcoming international events and meetings.
CONTAMINATED SITES AND BROWNFIELDS COMMITTEE
This committee comprises a group of high-level managers in the contaminated sites industry who meet to discuss and comment on issues of important relevance such as policy and regulatory initiatives. The BCEIA has a seat on the Licensed Environmental Professional Advisory Group (LEPSAG) which meets to review draft documents and provide comment on the proposed Approved Professional designation implemented in 2006. Members of the committee are required to sign confidentiality agreements prior to reviewing these documents which provide a unique insight into pending legislation which may impact on their clients.
HAZARDOUS WASTE COMMITTEE
This committee comprises a group of high-level managers in the hazardous waste management industry; providing direct oversight to the BCEIA Hazardous Waste Compliance Improvement Project (HWCIP). The committee also monitors pertinent legislation and progress of the industry sector and vocalizes on behalf of the industry on matters related to procurement, regulatory reform and environmental policy.
ENERTECH COMMITTEE (NEW)
This committee comprises a group of high-level mangers in the energy technologies industry who meet to discuss and comment on the impact and profile of those products, services and applications that address energy generation, transmission and consumption within a burgeoning, sustainability-driven legislative framework.
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
Consisting of the Chair, Vice-Chair and Secretary Treasurer, the Executive Committee carries out the day-to-day operational activities of the Association.
