Survey of Small to Medium-sized Enterprises by the Fraser Basin Council and Vancity Credit Union

The Fraser Basin Council and Vancity Credit Union invite you to participate in a 5-10 minute survey on the needs and sustainability priorities of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley and Southern Vancouver Island. We welcome your participation in this survey, whether you are in a for-profit business or a not-for-profit social enterprise.

Small and medium-sized enterprises are an important engine of BC’s economy, representing about 30 percent of BC’s GDP and 58 percent of all private sector jobs.

Vancity Credit Union and the Fraser Basin Council are committed to fostering leadership on sustainability. We are conducting this survey to learn about your organization’s sustainability practices and your general and sustainability specific support needs.

The results of this survey will be used to develop programs that help organizations learn more about sustainability choices, and that support organizations that are making sustainability happen on the ground. What we mean by sustainability in the business context is long-term financial prosperity that also provides environmental and social benefits.

Your input will be compiled into a summary report, which will be shared with all participants. All information you provide will be kept STRICTLY confidential and your identity will not be disclosed in the summary report.

By participating in this survey, your name will be entered in a draw to win a $500 Vancity MyTreat VISA or a full registration to the 2009 State of the Fraser Basin Conference being held in Vancouver from February 19 — 20, 2009.

The survey will be available online until June 23 and the winners of the draw will be contacted shortly thereafter. To access the survey, and to learn more about what we are doing to promote sustainability, please go to: http://www.fraserbasin.bc.ca/survey.html

Thank you in advance for your interest,
