The ALS Environmental Division, employing over 2000 staff and
with a worldwide footprint of over 40 laboratories, offices and
service centres provides a full range of environmental analytical
testing services. The Division specializes in the analysis of soil,
sediment, water (raw, waste, drinking, catchment, recycled, saline,
product), leachates, dust, air (indoor, stack, ambient), gas and
biota.
The range of analytical services provided across the abovementioned
matrices includes routine, trace and ultra trace level organics
(volatile and semi volatile, herbicides, pesticides, PCBs and
disinfection byproducts), metals and nutrients, inorganic non
metallics, microbiological, biological, toxicological parameters,
particle sizing and radio nucleotides.
Centres of Excellence across the division specialize in super ultra
trace analysis specific to the semi conductor, electronics and
pharmaceutical industries, the determination of specific organo
metallics and current and emerging persistent organic pollutants
(POPs) in various matrices.
Data derived from ALS Environmental Division Laboratories is
typically used in the following applications:
- Environmental baseline and compliance monitoring programs
- Site assessment and remediation
- Sediment Assessment for dredging
- Drinking, Catchment, Recycled and Desalination water
monitoring
- Occupational hygiene
- Waste characterization
- Other disciplines requiring a sophisticated analytical
approach
Analysis methods are based on well-established,
internationally-recognized procedures such as those published by
the US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and the American
Public Health Association (APHA) as well as local country
standards. R&D teams throughout the division are challenged and
deliver on specific methodologies which may be unique to specific
client applications.
Technical aspects aside, the Environmental Division is a Service
Provider. Deliverables are tailored to meet the rigors of industry
with Quality and On-Time Delivery prevailing. Standard deliverables
include:
- Real time on-line access to data (WebTrieve)
- A wide range of industry accepted Electronic Deliverables (e.g.
EQuIS, ESDAT, Excel and customized formats)
- Electronic Secure Final Certificates
- Quality Control Reports, Narratives and Invoices.
Individualized Project Management and Customer Contact Personnel;
