About the Canadian Innovation
Commercialization Program and the Innovation Forums
The Canadian
Innovation Commercialization Program (CICP) is a $40 million
dollar program that aims to promote innovation and support the
development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Canada. The
goal of CICP is to help bridge the pre-commercialization gap by
purchasing innovations through a series of Calls for Proposals. The
Program targets innovations in four priority areas: environment,
health, safety & security, and enabling technologies. To see

By attending the CICP Innovation Forum, you
will have the opportunity to:
- Learn how the CICP can assist you to commercialize your new
innovation
- Learn about Government of Canada programs that support
innovation
- Meet face to face with Government of Canada
representatives
Forum Agenda
9:00 - 10:30 (Information session)
The agenda for each Forum is similar - there
will be information sessions for business on CICP as well as on the
Scientific Research & Experimental Development Tax Incentive
Program, the Industrial Research Assistance Program, Department of
Foreign Affairs & International Trade (Nanaimo only) and
Natural Sciences & Engineering Research Council of Canada
Programs during the first portion of the event.
10:30 - 12:00 (Networking)
Businesses will have networking
opportunities with speakers and other participants.
12:00 - 13:00 (Optional Seminar - How to do
Business with the Government of Canada)
A brief overview to businesses on where to
find Government of Canada contract opportunities and the various
websites, systems, and databases used by the Government of Canada
when contracting for goods and services.

Industry Canada will be hosting a webinar on
the Canadian Innovation Commercialization Program on January 18,
2012 at 1:00 p.m. Eastern time/10:00 a.m. Pacific time (in English
only). Join Helen Braiter, Director of Strategic Initiatives and
Innovation at Public Works and Government Services Canada, as she
explains how this program can work for your business. This webinar
