Environment Industry Mission to Beijing CONFIRMED
The BCEIA will be co-sponsoring an environment industry mission to Beijing for Technology Week, May 19th-24th in partnership with the British Columbia Technology Industry Association (BCTIA), The GLOBE Foundation and the 2010 Commerce Centre. Technology Week will be held at the BC-Canada Pavilion as part of an ongoing series of Olympic-related activities leading to the 2010 Games in Vancouver.
Canadian companies are considered leaders in clean energy and environmental technology and China is very keen to do business in this sector. This mission will be a great opportunity to meet with environmental business leaders and decision makers in China. Hazardous Waste Never Looked So Good!
BCEIA is pleased to announce the launch of a new Internet Portal dedicated to Hazardous Waste Management in British Columbia. This website was developed as part of the Compliance Improvement Initiative undertaken by BCEIA with the support of the BC Ministry of Environment. The site contains detailed Fact Sheets related to the generation, transportation and processing of hazardous waste materials and they provide quick, industry-specific reference information and tips on how to ensure full compliance with Ministry regulations. BCEIA will also be conducting half day industry-specific workshops on hazardous waste management. More

BC Ministry of Environment is Seeking Your Views
The BC Ministry of Environment is reviewing and revising the Hazardous Waste Regulation (HWR) of the Environmental Management Act (EMA). Interested BCEIA Members are invited to provide stakeholder comments before February 15, 2008. See Here for further details.
