Free Internships Available to BCEIA Members

The UBC Centre for Intercultural Communication (CIC) is seeking local businesses and organizations to host unpaid internship placements. Public, non-governmental and commercial sectors can all benefit from this program including: Technology, Marketing and Communication, Community Development, Graphic Design, Administration, and Environmental Stewardship.

You can have the benefit of an enthusiastic ambitious worker who is keen to learn to supplement existing staff during peak periods or to help complete a special project.

All students have good English-language fluency; are chosen from amongst the top undergraduate scholars from well-recognized Universities after a thorough screening process; undertake approximately 80 hours of communication workshops, professional seminars, and field studies; have professional business communication and presentation skills; and have the tools required to adapt to a new professional environment.

Students are available: July-August, 2007 (Summer Session); November-December, 2007 (Fall Session); February, 2008 (Winter Session); May-June, 2008 (Summer Session). The host organization can expect students to be on site at the work location for a minimum of 4 working hours to a maximum of 8 working hours per day from Monday to Friday.
