BCEIA Part of BC High Technology Mission to Korea and China

BCEIA led a group of environmental firms participating in the opening of the British Columbia Canada Pavilion in Beijing by the BC, Premier Gordon Campbell and Canada’s Minister of International Trade David Emerson last month, the culmination of a week long Clean Technology- Environmental trade mission led by the Premier to Korea and China involving several Association members.

This high-profile, multimedia meeting place located near Tiananmen Square is open through September and will showcase Canadian innovation and excellence to the world. Joining BCEIA on the mission were: GLOBE Foundation CEO, John Wiebe and BCEIA members Legend Power, New East Consulting and AquaGuard along with Sacre-Davey Group and BI PureWater, 02 Environmental Inc, and ARA Safety Inc..

Each participating company made presentations to audiences in Korea and Beijing and conducted numerous one-on-one meetings with local contacts seeking business partnerships with BC companies.

“Through an industry-driven business program, between 300 and 400 B.C. and Canadian companies will be given the chance to promote themselves, build relationships and foster partnerships in the growing Asian economies,” said the Honourable Colin Hansen, B.C.’s Economic Development Minister and Minister Responsible for the Olympics. “It is the perfect opportunity for us to promote British Columbia as Canada’s gateway to Asia.”   

BCEIA BeijingOver the next few weeks, BCEIA Executive Director, Frank Came, who represented the Association on this mission, will be reaching out to firms in BC that may wish to pursue business opportunities in the rapidly expanding Asia Marketplace.
