Olympic & Paralympic Suppliers Program

September 14, 2010 –The 2010 Commerce Centre has been formally wrapped up, but the B.C. Ministry of Small Business, Technology & Economic Development is continuing to seek ways to lever the Vancouver 2010 experience. The Ministry is launching an ’Olympic & Paralympic Suppliers Program’, which will assist B.C. businesses win business at global sporting events such as future Olympics, Commonwealth Games, World Cups, PanAm Games, etc. An information session/reception is planned for companies interested in participating in this initiative. Conference on Source Control, Storm water and Sediment

September 24, 2010 – BCEIA friends are invited to participate in the Conference on Source Control, Storm water and Sediment  at the Washington Convention Center, in Seattle.   At this year’s conference, speakers will explore the complex relationship between clean water permits and regulations, and the laws and liability schemes that target environmental contamination.  Specifically, speakers will focus on Clean Water Act compliance –– NPDES Permits, storm water management and design, liability and sediment cleanup projects. BC Hydro Power Smart Forum

October 25–27, 2010 – This fall, from BC Hydro will convene its premiere learning and networking event for business customers: the Power Smart Forum. Mission to China

The Business Development Bank (BDB) is organizing a mission to attend the China International Green Industry Expo 2010 (CIGIE 2010) from Nov. 24 to Nov. 27, 2010, in the Beijing Exhibition Center.  Booth space at this event will be free to BDB delegation members, so the competition for the limited number of spaces available is keen. Korea Renewable Energy Event

The Consulate General of Republic of Korea is promoting an upcoming business seminar called the Korea–Canada Investment Forum. Keynote speakers have been invited from major companies such as Samsung, Hyundai, and Kia as well as the government officials including the Director General from the Ministry of Knowledge Economy. The focus of the conference is the renewable energy sector, IT, finance/VC, auto–parts manufacturer, aerospace parts, industrial chemicals and related industries. BC Water Symposium

The 21st World Energy Congress (WEC) will be held in Montreal, from September 12 to 16, 2010. COP 16 Climate Change Solutions Exhibition – November 29 – December 10.

ProMéxico, the international trade and investment promotion agency of the Government of Mexico, is planning to host a commercial event on Climate Change Solutions to be organized in conjunction with the COP16/CMP6  United Nations Climate Change Conference to be held in Cancun, Mexico on November 29   – December 10.   This event, the Climate Change Solutions Exhibition, will be held over a period of 3–4 days – for which the exact dates are yet to be determined. The event is one component among the parallel activities that the Mexican government is organizing alongside the COP16/CMP6.  The Trade Section at Canada’s Embassy in Mexico plans to attend the event and will provide support to companies interested in exploring the Mexican market.
